We are committed to fostering a supportive research environment where every member of our lab group family can achieve their individual goals. All are welcome here. If interested in joining our group, please contact Prof. McRose directly: dmcrose [at] mit.edu with information about your scientific background and your interest in our work. Prospective students and postdocs are also encouraged to look through the various fellowships listed under links. Please note that bioremediation and contaminant removal are not major areas of research or expertise in my group and I cannot mentor student and postdoc projects focused on these topics.
Graduate Students: I can accept graduate students through the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and through the Microbiology Program. If you are interested in joining my group via one of these programs please contact me. Applications for the 2025-2026 academic year are open! MIT application deadlines are in early December (check program details above).
MIT offers an application fee waiver for students with financial need, please be mindful that this requires submission in advance of the application.
Postdocs: Please contact me directly if you are interested in a postdoc position in my group. In your email please include your CV and the reason you are interested in our work as well as any fellowships you would like to apply for.
Undergraduates: I can mentor undergraduates through several programs. MIT Undergraduates interested in UROP, please contact Prof. McRose directly. Non-MIT Undergraduates: Please consider applying to the MIT Summer Research Program MSRP.
